MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — State Police are currently investigating a two-car rollover crash on I-290 that killed a Connecticut man.
The crash, which happened at around 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, prompted police to shut down all eastbound lanes on I-290 near exit 26, close to where I-290 intersects with I-495.
The breakdown lane was the only lane open to traffic.

Initial investigation suggests a 24-year-old Lowell man was traveling eastbound on Rt. 290 in a 2016 Subaru Impreza when he rear-ended a 2011 Ford Escape, which caused the Ford to veer off into the median and subsequently rollover.

The driver behind the wheel of the Ford Escape, identified as 55-year-old Lee Johnson of Oakdale, Conn., was transported to UMass Memorial Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
The two passengers inside Johnson's car, a 14-year-old boy and a 22-year-old woman, were also transported to UMass Memorial for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the Subaru was taken to Marlborough Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
No charges have been filed at this point in time.
State Police continue to investigate this crash.
