Cranston, RI teacher allegedly sexually assaulted students on campus

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston, Rhode Island teacher is accused of sexually assaulting four female high school students.

Police said they received a complaint from the Cranston West High School administrative staff after a female student had reported a male science teacher had touched her inappropriately. The student had also told the school psychologist the allegations.

Pearson was immediately put on leave when the first student reported. He has been charged with 12 counts of second-degree sexual assault and arraigned Thursday night.

He was released on $75,000 personal recognizance and ordered to have no contact with the victims.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Cranston Police Department Special Victims Unit, Sergeant Lori Sweeney (401) 477-5037 or Detective Michael Iacone (401) 477-5062.
