Note:
As announced last week, today’s dashboard (3/14) reflects an updated surveillance definition used to count COVID-associated deaths, adopted following guidance from the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists which recommended a standardized approach to counting COVID deaths. The new definition decreases the total number of deaths reported by 3,770. The dashboard also includes 355 probable cases and deaths not previously reported (individuals with COVID on their death certificate identified as part of a thorough death data review process). These newly reported deaths all occurred prior to April 2021. The demographic breakdowns of people who have died from COVID have been updated in the dashboard and today’s raw data file.

Also of Note:
Today’s data on cases and testing: Due to a planned upgrade in one data pipeline used to report laboratory test results to the Department of Public Health’s surveillance and case management system (MAVEN), case and testing numbers today (3/14) are likely not fully reported. Regular reporting using this data pipeline has been re-established and the backlog will be included in tomorrow’s data report.
