REVERE, Mass. — A person in Revere is dead, one of seven new confirmed cases of coronavirus and part of a growing cluster of cases that now stands at 33, according to the city’s mayor.
City leaders ordered the Jack Satter House to ramp up safeguards for staff and residents.
Mayor Brian Arrigo said this increase in cases underscores the need for people to socially distance and stay-home.
Jack Satter House went from two cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday to seven confirmed Thursday.
Five people are hospitalized as a result and Mayor Arrigo confirmed they are not doing well.

The rest of the residents, all 285 of them, are in quarantine in their own units.
Last week, Revere declared a state of emergency, closing city parks and government buildings.
We heard from Mayor Arrigo and the Lou Woolf, CEO of Hebrew Senior Life, which runs the Jack Satter house.
"We just had somebody who was asking, they really, really, really would like to leave their apartment and do something and we able for the first time to be able to say per the city’s order you cannot,” Woolf said.
Woolf says his organization is still providing meals while the building is in quarantine and have added more security, and are doing daily phone check-ins with residents. He also said the organization has been preparing for the possibility of an infection there for weeks.
