WORCESTER, Mass. — Rachelle Bond faced probation violation charges in Worcester court Thursday morning after she allegedly tested positive for drugs.
The mother of Bella Bond was accused of helping her boyfriend cover up his murder of the 2-year-old has been free on probation for nearly a year.
But after she missed a check-in with her probation officer on May 4, the officer said she admitted the next day to doing cocaine – a violation of her probation. Two days later, court documents show Rachelle Bond tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.

Last year, Bond testified against her boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, who is serving a minimum of 20 years in prison for Bella's murder in 2015.
She told the court that McCarthy beat the 2-year-old to death because she wouldn't go to sleep. She then watched as he put Bella's body in a duffel bag and was there when he tossed it into Boston Harbor.
The child's body eventually washed ashore on Deer Island and she was known as ‘Baby Doe’ for weeks until police learned her true identity.
Rachelle Bond pleaded guilty to being an accessory after her daughter's death and to illegally collecting state benefits.
She spent nearly two years in prison before being released in July of last year and immediately went to drug rehab.
