BOSTON — The MBTA Commuter Rail will continue its $10 all-you-can-ride weekends through the fall, Keolis announced Friday.
The Commuter Rail operating company launched a pilot program for the summer, making the Commuter Rail just $10 for an unlimited weekend pass.
Due to the success of the program, the company says it's extending the program through December 9.
The $10 fare will be available aboard the trains, at ticket windows and through the mTicket app on smart phones.
According to the company, pass sales grew from the first weekend of June 9-10 -- 3,470 passes -- to over 8,100 passes sold during the most traveled weekend of July 28-29.
The discount will not apply to 'Kraft Line' trains to Gillette Stadium for Patriots games or special events.
