REVERE, Mass. — The City of Revere will come together Thursday evening to remember a 5-year-old girl who died after she was hit by a car this week.
A candlelight vigil will be held at city hall to remember Adriana Mejia-Rivera.
Rivera was killed Sunday when she was hit by a car while waiting in the median on Revere Beach Parkway with her family. Authorities say two adults and three children were on the grass median near the intersection of Route 145 and North Shore Road in Revere at about 5 p.m. Sunday when they were hit.
The driver, 42-year-old Autumn Harris, was held on $10,000 bail during her arraignment Monday. Not-guilty pleas to charges including motor vehicle homicide were entered on her behalf.
Officials say Harris allegedly stated she had consumed one beer earlier in the afternoon, had taken prescription and over-the-counter medication to help her sleep the night before and that she had only slept for two hours before working all day Sunday.
Adriana's younger sister, 2-month-old Natasha, is still in critical condition at Massachusetts General Hospital.
