NANTUCKET, Mass. — The Coast Guard is resuming the search for a missing person after recovering a kayak off the shore of Nantucket Sunday.
The First Coast Guard District said the search, which is now entering the second full day, includes air assets and multiple cutters, according to a tweet Tuesday.

U.S. Coast Guard Brant Point tweeted Sunday evening that crews recovered a kayak with no one onboard 1 1/2 miles offshore.
Crews are searching for a 36-year-old man who was last seen kayaking off the eastern shore of Nantucket.
#Nantucket: An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Air Station Cape Cod is also on scene. An HC-144 Ocean Sentry from Cape Cod and an 87’ Patrol Boat, Cutter Steelhead, are preparing to launch. A second 87’ is standing by.

A helicopter, along with multiple Coast Guard vessels, searched into Sunday without locating anyone.
The USCG Station Brant Point tweeted Monday morning that a first-light search off Wauwinet was underway.
Station Motor Lifeboat is back underway this morning to join 4 other Coast Guard assets for a first light search off Wauwinet.

The Nantucket Harbormaster tweeted that it was also assisting in the search, with lifeguards and police on ATVs scouring the beaches for any sign of the missing man.
