Coast guard rescues 2 from sailboat ran aground in Boston Harbor

BOSTON — Two men had to be rescued by helicopter from a sailboat that ran aground in Boston Harbor Friday night.

The men called for help when the boat ran aground Friday afternoon and rescuers planned to wait for high tide to refloat the vessel. But high winds soon made it too dangerous for both the men and rescuers.

So a helicopter was called in Friday night to evacuate the men from the boat.

The boat, named Silent Passage, was left to be salvaged when weather permits.
