BOSTON — Investigators have been back at the Boston home where a barricaded man was killed and three police officers were shot. The shootout happened hours into a standoff in Dorchester.
Two of the three officers we are told have gone home from the hospital. But one remains in the hospital with a serious injury. We have learned all three officers were shot in the leg area.
The intensity exploded after an all-day standoff turned into gunfire. Three Boston Police officers were struck by gunfire. All three were rushed to the hospital. Several other officers were also evaluated.

The acting commissioner told us the officers spent the day trying to peacefully talk a barricaded man out when he suddenly fired at the officers. The officers fired back and killed the suspect. This all happened within days of another Boston Police officer being stabbed in the neck.
Mayor-elect Michelle Wu was briefed on both incidents Wednesday morning.
“I had a chance to speak with the officers who were involved and on scene to share the tremendous gratitude for the risks they and their families take on every day,” Wu said.

The Boston Patrolmen’s Association also spoke out saying, “We are angered and outraged! Over the last four days multiple police officers end up in the hospital after being stabbed or shot in 2 separate incidents. The complete and utter disrespect for our officers has never been higher and it needs to end.”
Mayor-Elect Wu said she wants to invest more in public safety but better couple it with other resources.
“The plan was never to remove needed resources from anywhere in the city but to increase our investments in public safety and health together,” Wu said.
The body of the man who was shot and killed was taken from the scene Wednesday afternoon. The officer still in the hospital has a serious injury to his knee area.
