WALPOLE, Mass. — A child was in a crosswalk when he was hit by a suspected distracted driver in Walpole Tuesday morning, according to Walpole Police Lieutenant Robert Kilroy, Jr.
The collision happened just before 8 a.m. on Fisher Street, between Woodruff Road and Raymond Avenue.
"Based on the initial investigation, it appears that he was walking in the crosswalk when the operator of the vehicle was distracted and struck him," Kilroy told Boston 25 News.
The child was taken to a hospital in Boston for treatment of a possible broken arm, but he didn't suffer any other serious injuries.
Motor vehicle charges are pending against the driver.
