BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting a surge in injection-related complications months after an investigation into tainted injections linked back to a Framingham compounding pharmacy.
The Boston Herald reports that 39 people have come forward in the past week with paraspinal abscesses in the area where they received steroid injections.
Health professionals are reportedly worried that the harm linked to the New England Compounding Center may have been understimated.
The CDC said the fungal meningitis death toll stood at 37 people on Wednesday.
