Car hits light pole, lands on its side after crash in Chinatown

BOSTON — A two-car crash in Chinatown early Monday sent an electrical box smashing into a window and left one person trapped in their vehicle until first responders arrived.

The crash happened around 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Kneeland Street. It caused one of the cars to plow into a light pole and electrical box which then smashed through the window of a Tufts University bookstore. That driver had to be freed with the Jaws of Life when his car ended up on its side. Boston Police said he was transported to the hospital with minor injuries as a precaution.

The other driver refused medical treatment, police said.

It's not clear if either driver is facing any charges or what preceded the crash.
