SALEM, N.H. — Canobie Lake Park said it’s facing the same employment struggles seen in businesses across the country, leading to management trying to get creative in attracting new employees and creating an operating schedule.
“Although new hire applications are currently down 25-30% from pre-pandemic levels, we are currently holding strong with approximately 1,000 Team Members,” officials said in a statement.
The season started in May and the operating hours were dependent on the employment base.
Park officials said that as the level of applicants improved, operating dates have increased to five days a week and extended hours to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays.
But, park officials said, while Canobie Lake Park is staffed for the summer, more positions will become available as college students begin the process of returning to in-person learning.
“We are actively hiring in all departments with perks including: Weekday Season Passes for Team Members, increased starting wages, after hours parties, and daily, weekly, and monthly incentives including a drawing for a free trip at the end of the season,” officials said.
