Brockton mother indicted in the murder of her two sons

BROCKTON, Mass. — A Brockton woman has been indicted on charges that she stabbed her two sons to death, according to the Plymouth DA Timothy Cruz.

Latarsha L. Sanders was indicted on two counts of murder and one count of misleading a police investigation.

Police were called to her house on Feb. 5 after receiving a 911 call for a medical emergency.

Brockton firefighters and emergency personnel found Sanders outside the address, distraught and combative. After transporting her for a medical evaluation, officials went into her third floor apartment only to find both boys in two separate rooms.

The children had each been stabbed multiple times and were declared dead on scene.

Sanders admitted to stabbing both her five and eight-year-old sons.

Court documents show police asked her why she stabbed her son and she responded, "it was because of the voodoo stuff."

According to prosecutors, the 8-year-old boy was stabbed 50 times.

Sanders allegedly cleaned up the children, placed them in their beds, and mopped up the crime scene, and never sought medical attention for the boys.

She was indicted on one count of misleading a police investigation based on false statements she made to police after the boys were discovered.

Sanders is currently being held without bail and will be arraigned on the indictments on April 10.
