A timeline of the "Baby Doe" investigation:
June 25, 2015: A young girl's body is discovered in a trash bag on Deer Island by a woman walking her dog. The girl was estimated to be around four-years-old.
July 2, 2015: Police release an artist's sketch of the girl, nicknamed "Baby Doe". Police also release photos of the polka-dot leggings she was wearing when she was found and a fleece blanket found with her body.
July 9, 2015: Police release an updated image of "Baby Doe" to include pierced ears.
July 15, 2015: An anonymous text tipline is created for any tops related to "Baby Doe".
July 20, 2015: A total of 84 billboards of "Baby Doe" are put up in 50 locations across Massachusetts in an effort to try and identify the girl.
July 22, 2015: Investigators say a DNA profile of "Baby Doe" was no match for anything registered to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's database.
July 25, 2015: Dozens attend a candlelight vigil on Deer Island in honor of "Baby Doe".
July 29, 2015: Memorial mass held on Beacon Hill for "Baby Doe".
August 5, 2015: Toxicology tests on "Baby Doe" show no signs of chemicals or other toxins in her body that would have led to her death.
August 12, 2015: An analysis of the pollen on "Baby Doe's" clothing indicates that she was likely from the Boston area.
August 30, 2015: More than two months after her body was discovered, a vigil is held on Deer Island for "Baby Doe".
September 1, 2015: A new analysis is done on the chemicals in "Baby Doe's" hair and teeth. Preliminary results indicate that she spent time in any of several New England states and other areas across the country.
September 8, 2015: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation releases a new "Remember Me?" billboard in the hopes of bringing in a new round of tips related to the discover of "Baby Doe".
September 17, 2015: Sources tell FOX25 that a search warrant is issued for an apartment on Maxwell Street in Mattapan.
September 18, 2015: Police charge the boyfriend of Baby Doe's mother with her murder. Police identify "Baby Doe as Bella, a 2.5-year-old girl from Dorchester. Her mother, Rachelle Bond, is charged as an accessory after the fact.
September 21, 2015: Rachelle Bond and boyfriend Michael McCarthy appear in court for arraignment. McCarthy is charged with Bella Bond's murder; Rachelle Bond is charged with accessory after the fact. McCarthy is held without bail; Bond is held on $1 million bail.
September 23, 2015: A new search warrant was issued at the home of Rachelle Bond, Bella Bond's mother.
September 26, 2015: Bella Bond's paternal grandmother publicly expresses regret that she hadn't taken the baby before her murder. She calls Rachelle Bond a liar.
October 20, 2015: Bella Bond's mother asks for a new autopsy in the case. She maintains that McCarthy killed bond with a punch to the midsection and she helped hide the body in a refrigerator.
October 28, 2015: A report finds the Department of Children and Families did not properly assess the risk for Bella at the Bond home.
December 21, 2015: FOX25 confirms Michael McCarthy and Rachelle Bond have been indicted on charges related to Bella Bond's murder. Rachelle Bond is also charged with larceny for continuing to accept public assistance from the Department of Transitional Assistance after she knew of Bella's death.
January 6, 2016: Rachelle Bond pleads not guilty to charges related to her daughter's death.
