Investigators teaming up with local businesses to find Baby Doe's identity

WINTHROP, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Investigators are teaming up with local businesses to spread the word about the unidentified toddler found dead on Deer Island two weeks ago.

FOX25 found posters with the child's computer generated image in store fronts across East Boston. People in across the state and country want to know who this little girl is, and feel a person connection to her, but in East Boston you can't walk 10 feet without seeing her photo.

Store Manager Ronda Dinacco said she'd be willing to do "anything we can do to get her face out there and get her a name and find out what's going on."

Dinacco said she didn't hesitate when state police went to Woody's Pizza in East Boston and asked her to post the fliers.

"I'm trying," she said. "I ask customers when they come in, did you see the poster out front? Do you recognize her?"

That is the same question state police detectives have been asking for two weeks since a passerby discovered the young girl's body in a trash bag on the shore of Winthrop's Deer Island.

Ravi Patel, a convenience store manager, showed us three fliers he has up in his convenience store in both English and Spanish. Patel says a lot of his customers are worried.

State police say more than 50 million people have viewed the computer generated image of the girl through social media. Jeannie Wright first saw it at work.

"It's everywhere," she said of the image.

The picture is everywhere. Everyone is talking about it. But, police still don't know who she is or how she died. FOX25 met those investigators exclusively earlier this week who said they were tracking down leads across the country.

"Somebody was her babysitter, nanny, somebody has to speak up," Wright said.

Police are exhausting every investigative avenue, but they're still waiting on the right tip. They said they also soon expect the results of toxicology reports.

"If you are the parent or caregiver of this young child, please step forward, clear your conscience and help us identify this young child," Suffolk District Attorney Dan Conley said in a news conference week.
