Back to School Surprise: Mrs. Gregory, Susan B. Anthony Middle School in Revere

REVERE (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Sixth grade teacher Sarah Gregory believes that having a comfortable and safe place to read is incredibly important to encourage the desire to read, but she wanted to spruce up the reading corner to get kids excited.

"Right now you can see I have a couple of rugs, I have a butterfly chair that was mine when I was in middle school, but that's only seating for one person in a chair, so I wanted to ask donors choose for some more comfortable seating so that kids get a chance to come in and curl up with a good book either during class or after school," Mrs. Gregory told FOX25's Julie Grauert.

Mrs. Gregory went online to DonorsChoose.org to request beanbag chairs for her "comfy corner", and FOX25 joined nearly two dozen other supporters to make sure that wish was granted.

She says her goal is for students to find a book and genre that gets them hooked on reading, and these donations are a step in the right direction to achieving that.

FOX25 News is joining the support for teachers in need. From Aug. 31 until Sept. 11, FOX25 is surprising teachers who have posted their needs through DonorsChoose, org. We hope you will also consider donating to teachers in need by visiting http://www.donorschoose.org.
