NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. - Authorities have recovered the body of a 16-year-old who went missing while swimming at a pond in North Attleborough on Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to reports of a person missing in the water at Whiting Pond Beach just before 5:00 p.m.
Fire departments from surrounding communities came in with their dive teams to assist in the search.

Dive teams from Bristol County, Plainville and Norton Fire Departments were called to the scene to help with the rescue.
Hours later, officials pulled the teen's body from the water.
"The individual was swimming and they didn't see him in the water anymore, no one was even sure he was even in the water," said one rescuer.
The boy was visiting along with a group from Providence, Rhode Island.
“Unfortunately this pond is very muddy and the search was difficult, divers were in the water for over an hour and a half looking," said one rescuer.
The teen's identity has not yet been released.
