Arlington Catholic HS evacuated for threat

ARLINGTON, Mass. — Arlington Catholic High School was evacuated Friday due to a bomb threat, confirmed the superintendent.

The threat was called into the high school and police responded around 1:30 p.m. The school was evacuated and nearby St. Agnes school was dismissed out of precaution.

Around 3:30 p.m., after a thorough search, officer determined the school was safe.

The private high school has students from seven different countries and 47 cities. According to its calendar, Friday is the last day of the school's second quarter.

Many other schools in Massachusetts received threats Friday.

"At this time, we are actively investigating to determine what, if any, connection exists among various threats made against schools today," Arlington Police Chief Ryan  Flynn said.

The threat remains under investigation.
