After a weekend closure and more repairs, the Alewife Station parking garage will reopen to commuters Monday morning at 5.
This was the second weekend in a row the MBTA garage was closed to commuter parking after a piece of concrete fell from the structure and damaged a car earlier this month.
There are about 2,600 parking spaces in the garage, the MBTA's largest, and the closure was a follow up to assess the repairs that crews have made over the last week.

On August 8, a piece of crumbling concrete fell onto a car that was parked in the garage and the MBTA closed the garage that weekend to make repairs. More are ongoing with a $5.7 million contract for work beginning next month to beams, concrete decks, and the drainage system.
All levels are open Monday morning. The garage will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. daily this week as more repairs continue.
