MANCHESTER, NH (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Six women were arrested and charged with prostitution in Manchester, N.H. Thursday.
At about 1 p.m., the Manchester Police Department Street Crime Unit launched an operation to target prostitution in what police call "hot spots" in the city. Undercover officers posed as potential customers between the area of Hanover Street to Laurel Street and Union Street to Wilson Street, and were approached by four women. The women allegedly offered to perform sexual acts for money, and were arrested as a result. Kerissa Hall, 26, Sarah Howard, 30, and Amber Letorneau 27, all of Manchester and Kianna-Leigh Harrison, 19, who is listed as homeless, were charged with prostitution.
During the operation, undercover detectives saw a known prostitute climb into the passenger seat of a car on Manchester Street. The driver traveled to a lot on John Devine Drive and parked. An officer approached the car and saw the woman performing a sexual act on the man, who was the driver. Caroline Vasquez, 37, of Manchester was arrested and charged with lewdness and violation of bail conditions as a result, as well as, Pratik Shah, 33, of Garnet Valley, PA, who was charged with lewdness.
All six women and the man arrested were provided information on health and treatment services, police say.
