LOWELL, Mass. — A multi-alarm fire in Lowell displaced dozens of residents on Sunday morning.
According to the Lowell Fire Department, crews arrived at the scene around 8:45 a.m. on 69 High Street where flames started on the top floor. The location of the fire made it hard to locate and knock down, the Fire Chief said.
The fire started as a 3-alarm but escalated quickly to 4-alarms, badly damaging the building and displacing 38 residents. Lowell Fire Department said all the residents have found alternate housing.
Two Chelmsford firefighters who were assisting at the scene suffered minor injuries, but no serious injuries were reported.
