BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — A 26-year-old man is recovering after being hit by a car in Bridgewater Thursday evening, according to Bridgewater police.
Emergency crews responded around 7 p.m. to Plymouth Street, near the Waterford Village Apartments and Bridgewater State University.

Police said a man from Marshfield was walking west on Plymouth Street when he took a left-hand turn and walked in front of an oncoming car also heading west. The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man from Cotuit, was unable to stop and he hit the man, throwing him about ten-feet.
Bridgewater Fire took the victim by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital with injuries they don't believe to be life-threatening.
Police said the victim wasn't in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
The driver of the car did stay on the scene.
Police continue to investigate the crash. At this time, they haven't filed any charges against the driver.
Boston 25 News reported on Tuesday evening when two Bridgewater town councilors unveiled a proposal to build an underground pedestrian tunnel on Plymouth Street, citing safety and traffic concerns.
