2 officers accidentally shot at Boston Police shooting range on Moon Island

QUINCY, Mass. — Two security officers were shot at the Boston Police shooting range on Thursday, in what appears to be an accidental shooting.

The victims, who are court security officers and employees of Walden Security, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Boston 25 News has learned.

Emergency crews responded to Moon Island, located in Quincy Bay, in the middle of Boston Harbor Thursday afternoon.

The island is the home of the Boston Police Firing Range and the Boston Fire Training Academy.

A spokesperson for Boston Police said the victims are not members of their department. Multiple agencies use the facility.
