DURHAM, N.H. — Officers in Durham have arrested two University of New Hampshire students for their involvement in the stabbing of another student early Saturday morning.
Police were called to 17 Madburry Road for a reported assault around 12:45 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered a 20-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times.
The victim was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery. He is currently listed in stable condition.
A police investigation led to the arrests of Matthew Gibbons and Eric Denning, both of Salem, NH. Gibbons was charged with 1st degree assault, Denning was charged with 2nd degree assault and criminal threatening. Both men are being held on bail until court appearances Monday.
Police are looking into whether the victim and suspects were known to each other.
