BOSTON — A 19-year-old driver narrowly avoided injury when a chunk of ice dislodged from a truck and went through her windshield, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The Wakefield woman was driving along Interstate 95 northbound around 10:30 a.m. when the ice came off the truck and went into her windshield.

Police are searching for the driver of the truck, but didn't have further details immediately available.

Although there is a no specific law that requires drivers to clear their vehicles, Massachusetts State Police say they will cite drivers who fail to remove snow and ice from their cars. Driver can face charges for crashes caused by debris falling off their car, MSP says.
