FALL RIVER, Mass. — A 15-year-old charged with murder in Fall River is being held without bail, according to the Bristol District Attorney.
Heavenly Arroyo faces a murder charge in the death of Ana Vazquez in Fall River. Arroyo was charged as an adult and pleaded not guilty in open court Monday.
On Sunday around 5:02 p.m., Fall River Police responded to 220 Johnson Street and found Ana Vazquez, 68, with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities did not disclose a motive
Prosecutors say Arroyo had been living in the apartment with Vazquez and her grandson for about two weeks. She previously lived in Rochester, New York.
John Geary, the suspect's attorney, says Arroyo was permitted to live in the home and he plans on investigating her psychiatric history.
She is due back in court on Oct. 15.
