LAWRENCE, Mass. — Fourteen prostitutes were arrested in a roundup by Lawrence Police’s Street Crimes Unit, the department announced Friday.
The arrests were made during a sting Wednesday evening, in which police say 14 sex workers and 1 solicitor were arrested.
Police say 14 women were charged with sexual conduct for a fee and one man was charged with solicitation of prostitution.
The Street Crimes Unit has made 38 arrests for prostitution.
The operation was part of what Lawrence Police calls “quality of life operations” and the department says more are planned in the near future.
