PLYMOUTH, Mass. — An 11-month-old boy was shot after a neighbor’s gun accidentally went off on Sunday morning.
According to the Plymouth Police Chief, the incident happened in a multi-family home on Forrest Avenue in Plymouth at around 11 a.m. when the neighbor, a man, had been putting a lock on his gun.
The gun the accidentally discharged, traveling through the wall and into the unit next door, hitting the child.
Police say the man called them to report what happened and the baby was rushed to a Boston hospital. While the extent of the child’s injuries are still unclear, officials do not believe them to be life-threatening.
The incident is currently under investigation and police say charges are expected to be brought against the gun owner.
