The Foo Fighters played two shows at Fenway in 2015, several weeks after lead singer Dave Grohl fell off stage and broke his leg during a show in Europe.
Grohl finished that show as medics tended to his leg, and played the rest of the tour, including the two Boston shows, from a one-of-a-kind guitar throne resembling the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones.
Also announced Monday was the Trip Around the Sun tour with Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley at Gillette Stadium on Aug. 24, 2018.
