Emmy Award-winning reporter Robert Goulston is a general assignment reporter for Boston 25. In that role he has distinguished himself as a compelling, compassionate storyteller with a commitment to providing clear, accurate information to his community. Prior to joining Boston 25, Robert served as the New Haven Bureau Chief for WFSB-TV (CBS) in Connecticut. One of the first journalists on the scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, Robert supplied live reports to CNN and CBS's national special coverage. While working in New England, he contributed to national outlets on several of the region's high-profile incidents, such as the Stamford chimpanzee attack, a Bridgeport man's plot to set off explosives in Times Square, and the Christmas Day (2011) fire in Stamford. Robert was first to confirm the name of the suspect in the murder of Yale graduate student Annie Le, and he was the only television reporter to cover both capital trials in the Cheshire home invasion. Originally from the Boston area, Robert was a reporter for News 12 Connecticut and ABC6 in Providence, and freelanced for New England Cable News and the ABC affiliate in Portland, ME. Robert has also worked at WTVF in Nashville, where he was a reporter and fill-in anchor. While there, he won an Emmy for his reporting on “Underwater Warriors,” a program that provides therapeutic scuba-diving experiences for recent war veterans. While in Nashville, Robert's Boston roots and love for Dunkin Donuts and the Red Sox often prompted the question “you're not from around here, are you?” His New England background was never more evident than when he mistook biscuit gravy for a bowl of clam chowder. Before working in Tennessee, Robert served the Lake Shore bureau for WZZM in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He began his broadcasting career as a reporter in Salisbury, MD and caught the reporting bug while working behind-the-scenes at America's Most Wanted. Robert grew up Quincy and North Weymouth, Mass. He graduated with a degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University. The proud owner of a Boston Whaler daysailer, Robert lives and sails in Boston.
