Elysia Rodriguez is a two-time Emmy-Award winning general assignment reporter for Boston 25 News. Elysia joined Boston 25 News from New England Cable News in 2017 where she spent two years reporting on stories from across the region. Before returning to Massachusetts in 2014, Elysia was a reporter and anchor for WIVB, the CBS affiliate in Buffalo, NY. She also spent time freelancing with WISH-TV in Indianapolis. Prior to that, she spent five years in Western Massachusetts as the evening anchor for WWLP, the NBC affiliate in Springfield. During her time at WWLP, she won two New England Chapter Emmy Awards related to coverage of the 2011 Springfield tornado. She has also won two Associated Press Awards, as a reporter in 2009 and as an anchor in 2011. Her on-air career began in Eau Claire, WI at the ABC affiliate where she was a multi-media journalist shooting, writing and editing her own stories. Elysia also spent time behind the camera as a producer and assignment editor in Providence at WPRI, the CBS affiliate. Born in Tampa, Florida, Elysia was primarily raised in the Philippines. She is a 2005 graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI where she earned dual Bachelor degrees in both communications and political science. Elysia is an animal lover and spends a lot of her free time with her two dogs, Dahlia the Corgi and Griffin the Goldendoodle. She also volunteers at the New England Aquarium in Boston caring for the penguins. At least once a week she’s there feeding them and of course, cleaning up after them!
