WESTFORD, Mass. — A Westford man has been arrested for leaving two dogs in a hot car.
On Monday afternoon, police were called to the Merrimack Premium Outlets for a report of two dogs inside a car.
When officers arrived, they found two dogs inside a parked car that had the windows slightly cracked. At the time, the temperature outside was 91 degrees. Police used a device to check the internal temperature and found inside the car was 128 degrees.
Animal control rescued the pups. Police found the owner, 22-year-old Samuel Frackleton, and arrested him.
He was released on bail and is set to appear in court on animal cruelty charges on July 12.
Police say the dogs were both released in good health to a responsible family member.
