LINCOLN, Neb. — Two men are accused of returning to a Nebraska apartment they had robbed earlier in the day, authorities said.
Dangelo Harris, 23, of Lincoln, and Hunter Bull, 22, of Iowa, were arrested by police in Lincoln on Thursday, according to Lancaster County online booking records. Harris was charged with robbery and burglary - obstructing a peace officer, while Bull was charged with burglary - obstructing a peace officer, records show.
Lincoln police Officer Luke Bonkiewicz said authorities received a call around 3 a.m. CDT Thursday about a break-in at an apartment, the Journal-Star of Lincoln reported. Residents told police that two men with a long gun had forced their way into an apartment and left with an Xbox, jewelry, a speaker and $400 in cash, the newspaper reported.
At 6:31 p.m. the same day, police were called to the same apartment after a neighbor called and said two men appeared to be robbing the apartment, KLKN reported.
Bonkiewicz said officers surrounded the apartment and announced their presence, the Journal-Star reported. Harris then allegedly jumped from the apartment’s balcony and attempted to flee, the newspaper reported.
Harris was caught after a short foot pursuit, and police said he was in possession of an Xbox, KLKN reported.
Bull also fled the scene and was captured after a foot chase, according to the Journal-Star.
The alleged break-in “does not appear to be random,” Bonkiewicz told reporters.
