NEW YORK — Just days after CNN anchor Chris Cuomo and his wife, Cristina, recovered from COVID-19, one of their three children now has the novel coronavirus.

According to “Entertainment Tonight,” Cristina, 50, revealed in an Instagram post Wednesday that the couple’s 14-year-old son, Mario, was infected.

“After 10 days of ups and downs, feeling good one day and terrible the next, I am now working toward getting my son, Mario, through the virus,” she captioned the post. “My heart hurts more than my head over his infection. This virus does not discriminate. While kids are more resilient, they can suffer same severity of symptoms.”
Earlier this week, the “Cuomo Prime Time” host, who is the younger brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, announced on his show that he and Cristina were cleared to leave quarantine. Chris, 49, has been hosting the show from his basement since he was diagnosed with the virus in late March.

“This is a day I have dreamed about literally for weeks,” he said in a video that showed him leaving the basement.

As of Thursday morning, at least 263,754 confirmed coronavirus cases and 19,453 deaths had been reported in New York, according to Johns Hopkins University. The largest cluster of infections was in New York City, with 147,297 cases and 15,074 deaths.
