WEST NEWTON, Mass. — The lawyer for a man accused of crashing his car into a popular restaurant and killing two people says he's too sick for jail.
A doctor who specializes in Multiple Sclerosis testified Tuesday on behalf of Brad Casler, who is accused of killing two people when his car drove into the Sweet Tomatoes restaurant in West Newton in 2015.
The doctor says MS patients like Casler need highly specialized treatment.

The Middlesex County Jail Superintendent also testified, saying her facility could provide the necessary care for Casler.
That's something Casler's attorney doubts.
“I've been doing this for 30 years, I've had plenty of clients who have been in; I've seen what the treatment available is to those people and I know what the condition is,” defense attorney Tom Giblin said. “And I know Mr. Casler is also going to be deteriorating.”
Casler is expected to plead guilty when he returns to court on October 2.
