Mass. State Police investigating sexual assault at Carson Beach

SOUTH BOSTON — Massachusetts State Police are investigating a sexual assault on Carson Beach in South Boston.

State police were called to a bathhouse on Carson Beach in Southie just after 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The reported victim, an adult female, was taken to Boston Medical Center where she was undergoing an examination.

State police believe a group of people, possibly homeless, were gathered near the bathhouse early Tuesday morning. At 4:30 a.m., the victim said she was raped by one of the men.

A passerby found the woman in distress before 6 a.m. and called police.

Police say they believe the suspect left the area before the alleged incident was reported.

Police are working to get a description of the suspect.

No additional information has been released.
