WOBURN, Mass. — A 19-year-old man was sent to a local hospital after he was shot in the neck, police said.
The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and there was no danger to the public as a result of this incident, Woburn Police Chief Robert Rufo said in a statement.
The victim was sent to the hospital around 3:15 p.m. Saturday. The man was dropped off by a person known to the victim.
Hospital staff notified police and through the subsequent investigation it was determined that the victim was shot in Woburn.
A preliminary investigation found that the incident may have been accidental or unintentional, but the investigation remains active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed at this time.
A gun was recovered by Woburn Police and investigators are interviewing all people involved.
