SUV smashes into Dorchester nail salon and takes off

DORCHESTER, Mass. — Boston Police are searching for the driver who smashed into the front of a nail salon and then sped off. The crash happened just before 9 p.m. Monday at 149 Washington Street in Dorchester. The nail salon was closed at the time, so nobody was inside. But the driver caused a lot of damage.

Cell phone video shows a black SUV backing out of the building. Then it has to drive over part of the building that got stuck under it. The SUV then jumps the curb, and then it screeches as it drives away.

Police rushed to the scene to investigate.

Boston 25 News reached out to Boston Police, but all they can tell us right now is that inspectional services were called. It’s unclear how badly damaged the building is, but it was quickly boarded up last night. The nail salon is connected to a few other businesses, but it’s unclear if any others were impacted.
