Suspect accused of assaulting police officer arrested following on-foot pursuit

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — On Wednesday, following an on-foot pursuit, police arrested a man accused of striking a police officer in the head with an unknown object.

The incident occurred when a patrol officer attempted to stop a car in the vicinity of 100 Concord Street, when the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, leading to a pursuit.

During the rundown, the suspect and an officer briefly struggled, leading to the officer being struck in the head with an unknown object.

The suspect, once again, fled the scene, leading to a search with officers and K9 units.

An investigation led to the home and arrest of 28-year old Manuel Teo of Marlborough.

Teo is being charged with:

  • Assault and Battery on a Police Officer
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle
  • Resisting Arrest

The officer that was struck in the head was sent to MetroWest Medical Center for a minor head injury and as since been released.
