Route 1 in Revere reopens after garbage truck crashes into guardrail

REVERE, Mass — Route 1 in Revere has reopened after a garbage truck crashed into a guardrail this morning.

Mass State Police responded to the scene just after 7:40 a.m.

Traffic was diverted off of Route 1 and onto Route 60.

All northbound lanes were shut down and the left southbound lane was also closed. The roads reopened just after 2:00 p.m., and the guardrail was replaced.

It’s not clear if anyone was injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
