PLAINVILLE, Mass. — Officials have identified the man killed in a house fire in Plainville on Friday afternoon.
On Friday, December 13 around 3:08 p.m., Plainville Fire responded to reports of a house fire at 61 School St.
Upon arrival, firefighters were greeted with heavy fire conditions in a single-family, ranch-style home.
Firefighters made entry into the home and located the sole occupant, 68-year-old Mark Beyersdorfer inside who succumbed to his injuries.
The fire was quickly extinguished with the assistance of mutual aid from neighboring departments, including North Attleboro, Foxboro, Mansfield, Bellingham, Norfolk, Wrentham, Franklin, and Cumberland, Rhode Island.
There are no other injuries to report.
A preliminary investigation indicates the fire was accidental, but the origin and cause remain under investigation.
