NORWOOD, Mass. — Check those tickets! A $1 million winning Mega Million ticket was sold in Massachusetts.
The ticket was sold at the Norwood Central Market Gulf/Ghafour Fuel, at 145 Broadway in Norwood, and drawn in Friday night’s drawing.
The store receives a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the winning ticket.
The Mega Millions jackpot for the Tuesday, December 17 drawing is an estimated $740 million.
The cash option on the prize is currently an estimated $342.9 million. If hit, the $740 million jackpot would be the eighth largest in the history of the game.
Tuesday’s drawing will be the 28th since the jackpot was last hit on September 10, when a ticket sold in Texas won an $810 million jackpot.
Mega Millions tickets are $2 each and can be played in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Tickets for Tuesday’s drawing can be purchased until 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at Mass Lottery retailers throughout the state.
Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. in Atlanta, GA.
