NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — A man found dead in the Merrimack River in Newburyport Tuesday morning has been identified as a local musician.
Robert Urzi, 71, was found in the water near the Whittier Bridge. Newburyport Police said Urzi, known as “Bahama Bob,” was well-known in the local music scene.
“We are saddened by this loss and our condolences go out the the family and friends of Bob,” Newburyport Police said in a statement. “The investigation into his death is ongoing, but at the current time investigators do not have reason to suspect that foul play was involved.”
There were no additional details immediately available.
