PEABODY, Mass. — Coffee with Candidates is back and giving our viewers a different perspective on the people asking for your vote. This 2022 political season, we turn our attention to the major state races playing out in Massachusetts. Boston 25 News Anchor Kerry Kavanaugh sat down with Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Leah Allen.

They recently met up for coffee at the Capito Coffee in Peabody.

Allen is a Republican from Peabody and she’s running on a ticket with Republican gubernatorial candidate, Geoff Diehl.

She’s a former Massachusetts State Representative and a registered nurse. Allen says her number one issue is rehiring workers who were fired due to the state’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Allen says she lost her nursing job when she refused to take the vaccine after her maternity leave.

Kavanaugh also spoke with Allen about being a mother to two very young children on the campaign trail and the perspective she says she’s bringing into this race.
