BOSTON — Two people were shot in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood on Friday evening, Boston Police said.

The shooting occurred near Dudley and East Cottage streets, in the area of 571 Dudley St., and also on Brook Avenue.

In the first scene on Dudley Street, a white SUV was surrounded by police tape, and bullet holes could be seen in the driver’s side window.

One of the shooting victims was shot here and, police say, children were in the car as well when that victim was shot. Luckily, the children were not injured.

In another scene, just up the street on Brook Avenue, a second victim was shot.

One woman told Boston 25 News that she heard and all five or six gunshots ring out and she saw a moped on the ground in the middle of the street where someone had obviously taken off running.

There were shoes scattered and other paraphernalia.

Both shooting victims took themselves to a Boston hospital with what police believe to be non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Boston 25 is working to learn if there were any other victims, but as of 11 p.m. Friday, police had confirmed two victims.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
