A former college soccer player accused of threatening to kill nearly four dozen athletes intends to plead guilty, Boston 25 News has learned.
Addison Choi, 23, played varsity soccer for Babson College in Wellesley in 2017. Authorities say he gambled on sports - both professional and on a college level - and he lost often. When the players or teams he bet on performed poorly, Choi allegedly used Instagram to send them death threats.
Authorities say on one athlete's Instagram he posted, "I'll find you [expletive] family and skin them alive you stupid [expletive]. I hope you never play again."
In another instance, Choi posted on a professional athlete's girlfriend's page, "You stupid mother [expletive], you worthless [expletive]. I will [expletive] kill you."
