A 37-year-old New Hampshire man died in a single-car crash in Tewksbury on Friday evening, according to Massachusetts State Police. Law enforcement are investigating the fatal crash.
The victim was later identified as a 37-year-old Peterborough, N.H. man, who was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Mass. State Police said the crash happened on the southbound side of I-495 before Exit 39 in Tewksbury. The vehicle - a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado - apparantley veered off the right side of the roadway and struck the tree line. The incident closed one lane.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section along with the Crime Scene Services Section are investigating with assistance from troopers assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The identity of the victim is behing withheld pending family notification.
Tewksbury Fire and EMS assisted Mass. State Police at the scene, as did MassDOT.
