Driver hospitalized after SUV crashes, catches fire in Rockland

ROCKLAND, Mass. — The driver of an SUV that crashed into a tree and caught fire in Rockland was transported to South Shore Hospital on Sunday afternoon, according to the town’s fire department.

The crash occurred on Hingham Street in the town just before 3 p.m. Sunday. Neighbors helped pull the victim out of the car after it caught fire before firefighters treated that victim at the scene.

There has been no update on the victim’s condition.
